Take a look around you, at the friends you've chosen in your life.
Look at the people you enjoy spending time with the most, the people that you consider your closest friends.
Chances are, their values most closely match your own.
What do I mean by values? Things like family, wealth, money, success, relaxation and many many more - a list as long as there are people in the world.
And the key thing to remember is that the more closely your values align with someone else's, the easier it will be for you to communicate with that person. The easier it will be for you to become close, and to understgand one another, and build a relationship.
The key, in fact, is to be aware of your own values, and share them with your partner. That way, your communication will improve, your realtionship will improve, and everybody wins.
The Scrapbook Project is a simple, fun exercise for determining your own values. You can do it alone or with a partner.
It was developed in New Zealand, by a student of psychology, and is completely free. There is nothing to buy, no "Postage and packaging" charge, no strings attached. Nothing to fill out or send in, and no obligation to give your name, email address, or even to let anyone know you ever read this blog.
Follow this blog, and over the next few days The Scrapbook Project will be posted for your use or interest.
After that, this blog will be dedicated to examples and stories about common values or valuye-issues in our society.
I'd love to meet you :)
